About Us

South Florida Appeals, P.A., based in Miami, Florida, is a solo appellate practice headed by attorney Allen Bonner. Allen handles appeals and assists lawyers in civil cases of all sorts, including personal injury, wrongful death, product defect, commercial contract, class actions, and insurance and bad faith disputes. He is licensed to practice law in Florida, Georgia, and the District of Columbia.

Allen was formerly a trial lawyer at the Miami public defender's office, an associate at Ver Ploeg & Lumpkin (now Ver Ploeg & Marino), and a partner at Colson Hicks Eidson, where he led the appellate division. Before becoming a lawyer, Allen graduated from Brown University magna cum laude and from Columbia University’s School of Law as a Harlen Fisk Stone Scholar, Charles Evans Hughes Fellow, and Jacob Berger Fellow. He also studied at Oxford University, England.

Allen co-chairs the Miami Dade Bar Association’s Appellate Courts Committee and the Florida Bar Appellate Practice Section’s webinar programming. He has been published in the University of Miami Law Review, the ABA Appellate Practice Journal, and on the ABA’s “Sound Advice” podcast series.
